Suzanne Hughes Fuller

Suzanne Hughes Fuller

Current Company and Position: Town of Harrison, Administrator to the Department of Building Code Enforcement and Fire Prevention.

Family: Married to Kevin Fuller, son Michael Fuller, daughter Amanda Avery (husband Kevin Avery) and their children Austin and Brynn.

First Job: My first job out of college was with Chemical Bank, which is now JP Morgan Chase. Starting from the bottom but seeing the potential that hard work can bring contributed to my work ethic.

What it taught me: While it taught me the importance of money management, most importantly, it taught me that you can always do better...bigger and better. There is always room for improvement. There will always be people who tell you no, and don't listen to them. Fight for what is right, especially in your community and the workplace. There are very few people that will advocate for yourself. Be one of those people.

Best advice you could give someone starting out: If you see something that you think can be done better or more efficiently, have the incentive to implement those changes yourself. Don't be the one saying a change should be made...be the one making the change.

Who is your hero and why? Those who stand up for the underserved are our heroes. Whether you are a teacher, nurse, community activist, or labor leader....anyone who fights for the rights of those you cannot fight for themselves is a hero. My aunt, Nuala Kane, was a women who served her community above and beyond. A true hero to her community and her family.
