Current Company and Position: Operating Engineers Local 825, Business Manager.

Family: wife – Tricia; daughters; Morgan Wukovits, husband John; Taylor Lalevee; Carly Lalevee; stepdaughters; Dana Hayes, husband Colin; Lauren Caputo; stepson - Michael Caputo.

First Job: Lifeguard.

What it taught me: The value of serving others.

Best advice you could give someone starting out: Resist instant gratification, don’t be afraid of change and identify your goals and stay focused on achieving them. Build your life, your career and your family. Do it deliberately and intentionally.

Who is your hero and why? My father. He taught me that determination and hard work produce results. He also taught me to respect others, always.

Biography: Greg Lalevee is a 40-year, second generation Operating Engineer. He spent most of his time in the field as a crane operator working on many critical projects such as the Lautenberg Train Station before going to work for the union as its first organizer. Greg was elected Business Manager of the Local 825 in 2010 and to the IUOE General Executive Board in 2011. He serves as President of the Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School Board of Education and as Vice Chair of the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund. He is most proud of the accomplishments of his children, stepchildren and sons-in-law.
