Mike Houlihan
Place of birth: Chicago.
What is your profession? actor-writer-director-producer-playwright-radio host.
How do you celebrate your Irishness? I am the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Hibernian Media, a public charity dedicated to Irish and Irish American culture. We tell stories to enlighten future generations while honoring our ancestors. We produce a pair of weekly local Irish radio podcasts, the Annual Irish American Movie Hooley film festival, annual pilgrimages to Ireland, and a variety of one off Irish concerts, films, and TV shows.
Name a hero you admire and why? My wife Mary, the poor woman, I married the hell out of her. She gave up her career for me and our twin sons and prays the rosary constantly, attends mass every day, and is constantly praying to keep our asses from eternal damnation in hell. God love her.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I started my career back in 1973 as a classical actor performing Shakespeare and other classics for several years with the American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford CT, regional theatres across the country, on Broadway and off Broadway.
