What is your profession? Trained as a teacher but now work in my family's agricultural business. I have a BA in history and English ànd a BBA.
How do you celebrate your Irishness? I'm quite proud of my Irish heritage. I have served as president of the Harp and shamrock society and l have received the society's two highest honors of the Cusack award and Irishman of the year. Currently I am the newsletter editor of the society. I am also a member of the Irish cultural society of San Antonio and the San Antonio Gaelic Athletic Association.
Name a hero you admire and why? Margaret Mary Healy Murphy founded the sisters of the Holy Ghost here in San Antonio for the education of freed blacks after reconstruction using her own money from her late husband. Her cause for sainthood has been presented to the US council of Catholic Bishops.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I like reading and cooking and have modernized an old family cookbook that had been used for wood stoves.
Biography: I am a military brat as my Dad was a career army officer. I had an older sister and brother now deceased. One summer I broke my right arm and started working on my Irish heritage on my mom's side. I do try to go to Ireland every year.
