James P. Tierney enlisted in the 69th Infantry in 1966 and retired from Active Service in 1996 with the rank of Colonel. He served for ten years as Historian of the 69th Regiment, wrote and published two books, and appeared on the History Channel. He was appointed the Honorary Colonel of the 69th Infantry Regiment in 2013.
Mr. Tierney is a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre, serves as a Member of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration Committee and is a Member of Division 1 of the AOH and Honorary Board Member of the Thomas F Meagher Foundation (Dublin).
