Evening host Sophie Colgan says the gathering represents an exciting opportunity to celebrate both the heritage and future of the GAA community in New York.

"This marks an important new chapter for New York GAA as the organization looks to build a stronger, broader, and more sustainable support network for the future of Gaelic Games in New York," she said. Designed to strengthen connections across the Irish-American community, Club New York GAA will support the continued development of Gaelic Park, Redmond Park, and New York GAA more broadly through a more inclusive and community-driven membership model.

"There is a growing sense of fresh momentum around the current NYGAA leadership, with a renewed focus on visibility and community engagement," adds Colgan. "Club New York GAA will encourage a wider audience to reconnect with the GAA — from lifelong supporters to members of the Irish diaspora and business community."

There has also been plenty to celebrate for New York GAA in recent months. The New York hurlers are preparing for a historic appearance in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final after an impressive victory over Mayo this past weekend. They will now face Tyrone at Croke Park on May 30.

Meanwhile, the New York Senior Footballers are preparing to return to Ireland on June 4 to compete in the Tailteann Cup, continuing New York’s increasing competitiveness on the inter-county stage.

Looking ahead, New York is also set to host the Continental Youth Championships (CYC) at Redmond Park in July 2027, the largest youth Gaelic Games tournament outside of Ireland.

“With so much positive momentum around New York GAA right now, this initiative is about building something lasting for future generations,” Colgan added.

The event takes place on Wednesday, June 17th at Rosie O’Grady’s, Manhattan. Supporters attending will become Founding Members of Club New York GAA and receive a range of membership benefits. For sponsorship information, email Colgan.
