Frawley to switch from Leinster to Connacht

Leinster Rugby coach Leo Cullen has admitted that he didn’t want to lose the versatile Ciarán Frawley to Connacht. Last week Frawley confirmed that had decided his dwindling international hopes are best served by linking up with his former coach Stuart Lancaster in Galway next season. Cullen said: ‘‘We tried to keep Ciarán here. But he has made his decision. That’s just the professional world we are in. Ciarán has been a great part of the group here. But listen, we understand his reasons. Decisions get made and we move on. Our job is to make these players as good as they can possibly be. Meanwhile Frawley said he is happy with the move, saying ‘‘I’m excited to have the opportunity to represent Connacht on and off the field from next season. On my visits to the province with Leinster I have always been struck by the passion of the supporters there and the positive brand of rugby the team play.’
