Egan on target for Blades, again

By Irish Echo Staff

Republic of Ireland defender John Egan scored for Sheffield United in added time to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on Wednesday.

The Cork native’s dramatic 93rd-minute header from a corner followed his half-volley against Burnley that secured a point at the weekend.

Egan, the son of late Kerry football star and Garda officer John Egan Sr., has now scored in all four tiers of professional soccer in England.

A fourth, Callum Robinson, has been out on loan with West Bromwich Albion.
