Irish Tenors to sing on U.S. diplomatic ground

The Irish Tenors will be singing in some Christmas Cheer

By Irish Echo Staff

The year of Covid-19 has put a halt to live performances by countless artists worldwide, but the Irish Tenors will be on air and on view this Christmas in a recorded special that will be available online.

The tenors, Ronan Tynan, Anthony Kearns and Declan Kelly, are recording their concert performance in "Deerfield," the residence of the U.S. ambassador to Ireland in Dublin's Phoenix Park.

So they will sing on American ground, at least in the official sense and be hosted by the current ambassador, Edward Crawford.

Boston-based Tynan, who is a medical doctor, has been in Ireland in recent months working as a doctor amid the pandemic. He has not sung professionally in some months but said he was looking forward immensely to bringing Christmas cheers, along with his fellow tenors, to the group's many loyal fans in America and around the world.

There will be three pay-per-view showings online of the concert, on December 19, 23 and 27.
