America goes to the polls today to choose a president, a new Congress, and to elect a host of candidates seeking voter approval for a vast array of state and local political offices.
As is the case in any and all elections we urge our readers to exercise their democratic right to vote. The more votes cast the healthier our democracy.
This year's presidential election has been described as the most consequential in years, and regardless of who wins the implications will be felt around the world.
And they will be felt in Ireland which has an especially close relationship with the United States at the political, economic, social, and indeed family level.
So please, cast your votes in all the various races and watch out for our reports in the coming days which will be focused on the implications for Irish America and Ireland when all the votes are counted.
