Congressman Brendan Boyle is not happy with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
He would be joining a long line stretching back some years to Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, and now, as he sees it, in the City of Brotherly Love.
Boyle, a Democrat representing Pennsylvania's Second Congressional District, issued a statement in response to a recent FEMA decision to close COVID-19 testing sites in his city.
"I am deeply dismayed that FEMA is ending local testing for COVID-19," said Boyle, who is the only member of Congress with an Irish parent, his father a Donegal native.
"Just yesterday, the White House declared Philadelphia as one of the projected 'hot spots' for the virus. There is no reasonable explanation for FEMA’s decision.
"FEMA has chosen a path of chaos, which will only make this crisis much worse. I call on FEMA to reverse its decision immediately."
