The hardest of times can bring out the best in us and one example is how Hickey’s Deli in Bronxville, NY came to the aid of hard pressed staff at Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital. Here’s how Echo reader Mairead Casey explains it: “Kathleen Hickey and I have been long time friends since our days playing Gaelic football – Anne Kearney Ladies 1999 Champs! She called the other day to see if she could help my family with food. I told her we were okay but the ICU staff where I work, from RN to nursing assistants, clerks, MD’s and PA staff who barely have enough time eat would need would appreciate the food. Even though she had to close her own business she thought not of herself but others. This photo was first posted on instagram.
