Eamonn played for Gay

Uilleann Piper Eamonn Walsh of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is pictured playing at St. Fintan's Cemetery in Dublin for the late broadcaster Gay Byrne. Eamonn played as the cortege arrived at the gates of St. Fintan's, and again at the graveside. Among the pieces Eamonn played were "The Parting Glass," "You Raise Me Up" and after the coffin was lowered into the grave, "Gabriel's Oboe" by Ennio Morricone from the Film "The Mission.” Gay Byrne's wife, Kathleen Watkins, and members of the Byrne family thanked Eamonn and said they were deeply moved by the beautiful, haunting, sound of the Uilleann Pipes at their final farewell to Ireland’s most beloved broadcaster.
