Community rallying behind Sean McNeill

Sean McNeill

By Ray O’Hanlon

Sean McNeill, former president of the Irish Business Organization in New York and a hugely popular figure in the Irish/Irish American community, is in hospital this week suffering from a serious illness.

And his many friends are rallying behind the Roscommon native as he faces another challenge: rapidly mounting medical and hospital bills.

Sean is an entrepreneur running his real estate business and two online shopping start-ups, but now that he is incapacitated his income has dried up and his bills are piling up, from his rent to all the staggering medical fees not covered by health insurance.

Sean’s friends at the Irish Business Organization are reaching out to his broader circle of friends and colleagues to help him in his time of need.

They have launched a fundraising effort to help alleviate Sean’s financial challenges through an online GoFundMe campaign at https://www.gofundme.com/822kuu-sean.

The fundraising effort has raised a considerable sum of money thus far, but the bills continue to mount and Sean’s friends are digging in for a sustained effort.
