John Cardinal D’Alton, Division 3 of the Ancient Order of Hibernian in Pearl River held their annual Communion Breakfast and ceremony to honor ten young scholarship recipients at the Church of St. Margaret. The students received their awards at the breakfast that followed at the Hibernian House. Dermot Moore, Division 3 president, and Kevin McNulty, chairman of the scholarship committee, presented the scholarships: The scholarship winners are, front row (l-r): Meghan McKiernan, Kathleen O’Neill, Rita McVeigh, Kathleen Parnow, Caitlin Tyer, and Catherine Watters, and back row (l-r) Sean Sorohan, Aidan Russell, Terence Rogers and Liam Ridge. To be awarded a scholarship the applicants were reviewed on their academic community and Irish cultural activities, along with their performance on a competitive examination on Irish history.
