Death of Thomas Moore

Thomas A. Moore of Pearl River, New York, and husband of former New York St. Patrick's Day Grand Marshal, Mary Holt Morore, has died aged 87.

In addition to his wife, Moore is survived by eight children and 21 grandchildren.

Moore died on Friday, May 11 surrounded by his family.

Born in Ballylongford, County Kerry, Tom Moore was a long time Bronx resident. He graduated from Regis High School with the class of '42 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Moore retired from the FDNY as Deputy Chief, Division 5 in 1979, and was a charter member of the FDNY Emerald Society, Holy Name Society and the Bronx Gaelic League. Moore was also a Past President of AOH Bronx County Division 3.

A Mass of Christian Burial is being held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, Westchester County.
