Walsh marks music site's first year

Fiona Walsh will celebrate the first anniversary of her accidental career this Friday night and Saturday morning.

It has its roots in a writing assignment she got some years ago to cover an event at the Roseland Ballroom. The article was never published but the stand-up comedian and columnist's love for dance music was reignited and she began to go to clubs frequently.

"I learned to DJ and I started blogging for a dance music website in Ireland, and then my friend there who runs that site suggested I start clubbersguidenewyork.com," Walsh said.

I'm from Roscrea originally, the home of dance music," she said.

"It's a pretty heavily saturated market, but I've still managed to garner a little corner of it and the high-profile events and the DJs I interview have helped promote the site," she said.

Friday's party is being co-promoted with Trilogy. DJ and producer Steve Rachmad is traveling from Holland (www.steverachmad.com) for the event. For more details go to clubbersguidenewyork.com, or email Walsh at fiona@clubbersguidenewyork.com.
