McManus book for Woodlawn launch

Woodlawn in the Bronx will play host to Fr. Sean McManus on Saturday, October 8 when the Irish National Caucus founder presents his book to the local community at a launch in the Rambling House on Katonah Avenue.

"Fr. Mc Manus has launched his wonderful memoirs, "My American Struggle for Justice in Northern Ireland," in Times Square and in Pearl River. So it would not make sense for him not to come to Woodlawn," said Jim Kilkenny, coordinator for the launch, which will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Rambling House, 4292 Katonah Ave.

"All my life I have supported the Irish cause and have greatly admired Fr. Mc Manus long struggle for justice. It is truly inspiring the way he has stuck at it - against huge odds and powerful opponents," said Kilkenny, an activist and former Bronx Borough Commissioner for the New York Department of Transportation.

"Our event has a twofold purpose: to welcome this important memoir, which covers a vital part of Irish-American history, and to honor Fr. Mc Manus's lifetime commitment to justice and peace in Ireland. And for that twofold reason, I encourage all true Irish Americans to attend."
