Higgins Clark will head parade

The New York St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee is expected to announce Monday that the popular and prolific author Mary Higgins Clark will be the grand marshal for the St. Patrick's Day Parade next March.


Clark will take over the grand marshal's position from New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. The 2010 parade, the 250th, will be augmented by a number of events that will be held in the days leading up to the March 17th event.

Higgins Clark will be formally presented as grand marshal at a press conference Monday at the Irish Consulate in Manhattan.
