Jason Winter

Current Company and Position: USMX  - Director, Safety/Training, CFS & Labor Relations.

Family: wife: Jena Winter; sons: Aidan Patrick Winter, Seark Rylan Winter, Rylan James Winter.

First Job: My Father would take me out on his truck route to help him as long as I can remember. My first real full-time job though was at the age of 14 working for a family owned residential and commercial moving company.

What it taught me: It taught me perseverance, how to work together with people, and the meaning of what a hard day at work meant from a very early age, and those hard days usually went into and through the night. As hard as it was, I worked with family members a diverse group of people from all walks of life, which made the time go fast.

Best advice you could give someone starting out: Work hard and learn everything you can about your field, including the one step adjacencies to what you do. You want to be that person that everyone looks to for information. Actively seek a mentor that is passionate about helping you grow. Always be honest and credibility will follow. Hone up to and learn from your mistakes. When you make mistakes, and we all do, don't let them hold you back.

Who is your hero and why? Definitely my father. He is the toughest person I ever met. He never gave up no matter what was thrown at him. He practically raised himself, took his younger brothers across country as a young teenager, lost a son at an early age, lost his wife way too soon, always backed my brothers and me no matter what trouble we found ourselves in and always pressed forward. He had unshakeable faith. He loved being a truck driver and talking with everyone he could, which usually made his day even longer.
