Still Standing

Pic of Day: Some Manhattan residents are angry that the view of the Empire State Building from this position, 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue, is being obscured by a new residential tower that will match a few other recent arrivals in the borough in terms of external architectural mediocrity. Happily, though, both buildings are still standing tall after Friday's 4.8 earthquake. Not so happy, perhaps, are residents of New Jersey. The quake was centered in the Garden State but just about every headline focused on the temblor being felt in New York City. Irish Echo photo.
