BIg Winners in Chicago

Pic of Day: Matthew Hearn of Chicago is the Grand Prize Winner of the "Win A Chicago Home Raffle," benefiting the charitable arm of Chicago Gaelic Park. WGN-TV reporter, Patrick Elwood, drew the winning ticket number at the Grand Prize Drawing on March 24. John Quinn, “Voice of Chicago Gaelic Athletic Association & Chicago Gaelic Park Special Events,” emceed the drawing. Matthew won the choice of a custom-built 4-bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,800 sq. ft. home located at 10430 S. Sawyer Avenue in Chicago’s Mt. Greenwood neighborhood ($650,000 est. value) or $450,000. After returning from a pre-planned Las Vegas vacation, Matthew and his wife, Jennifer (picturd) opted for the $450,000 prize. The raffle sold 12,443 tickets. This was the organization’s largest fundraiser since the founding of Chicago Gaelic Park, which is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Irish sports, heritage, and culture. The raffle was the brainchild of Board Member John Conroy, who was inspired by house raffles in his native Ireland. Conroy’s hope was to “raise as much money as possible to do up the fields for the kids at Gaelic Park.”
