Cardinal Dolan taps into an earthly power

Timothy Cardinal Dolan visited Consolidated Edison’s headquarters in Union Square on March 5. He was invited to participate in a celebration of Irish-American history by Con Edison’s Emerald Society. The Cardinal spoke to more than 200 employees about one of his predecessors, Archbishop John Hughes, who presided over the growth of Catholicism in New York and laid the cornerstone for St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The cardinal is pictured in Con Edison’s electric operations control room.
