As this Martyn Turner cartoon illustrates, the presidential election turned into a slugfest and as of noon on Wednesday no winner had been declared. In other races there have been clear winners and in this category comes two House races of particular interest to activist Irish American voters. In Philadelphia, Congressman Brendan Boyle has been returned to another two year House term, while in Massachusetts, Congressman Richard Neal has been chosen for another term. Neal chairs the House Ways and Means Committee and is a central figure in how the United States deals with trade in the context of Brexit.
