A June flowering

In the Republic of Ireland it is LockDown Day 74 and Day 1 of Phase Two reopening. It is also the month of June and the Elders are blooming. Here, an Elder tree offers welcome shade to sheep on the Curragh Plains in County Kildare. All over the country elder flower trees and bushes are in full bloom and are being raided for their precious flowers by Lockdown foragers eager to make elder cordials, fritters, wine and gin mixers, and a host of other uses to which the sweet smelling, but poisonous (unless treated) flowers and berries are put.
