Matt Damon’s Dalkey Archive has concluded. The Oscar-winning actor and his family have reportedly departed Ireland after an almost three month lockdown sojourn spent in the South County Dublin village of Dalkey. Damon had arrived in Ireland at the beginning of March to shoot a movie directed by Ridley Scott. That project is on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In a radio interview prior to departure Damon had this to say: “This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. Obviously what’s going on in the world is horrible but I’ve got my whole family. I’m with my kids and we have teachers with us because we were planning on missing school for about eight weeks. We’ve got what nobody else has, which is live human beings teaching our kids so we feel guilty. We’ve got this set-up in this incredible place. It’s absolutely gorgeous.” The Dalkey Archive is a critically acclaimed novel by Brian O’Nolan, aka Flann O’Brien.
