New York State Assemblyman Michael Cusick, chair of the Assembly’s powerful Energy Committee, will address the best of Irish America’s young ambassadors at the annual Irish 40 Under 40 Awards celebration on February 22 in Manhattan.

Assemblyman Cusick, Democrat of Staten Island, is no stranger to this unique salute to the community’s up-and-coming leaders. He was an Irish 40 Under 40 honoree himself in 2009.

“The quality of this year’s honorees gives me every confidence that the future of Irish America is bright,” said Cusick.

“It’s truly a case of those who have been given much, giving much back. I am looking forward to meeting the forty in person and hearing more about the inspirational work they are engaged in.”

The class of 2019 hail from across the U.S. and includes a neurologist from Florida, a civil rights lawyer from Washington, D.C., a teacher for the deaf from New York, and a cannabis company CEO from California.

All forty are named on our website, www.IrishEcho.com, as we invite readers to vote for the honoree most deserving of the People’s Choice Award.

The Irish 40 Under 40 awards dinner will take place in Rosie O’Grady’s Manhattan Club.
