It’s November 1966 and Sean P. Keating is giving the oration during the annual Sean Moylan Commemoration in Kiskeam, Co. Cork. The Cork-born Keating, a veteran of Ireland’s struggle for independence, was Regional Director for the U.S. Postal Service at the time of this address. Moylan, an IRA commandant during the War of Independence and a leader of Anti-Treaty forces during the Civil War, was a Fianna Fail politician from 1927 until his death in 1957.
