Death of Philly stalwart

The death occurred on July 26 of Annabella Manley, a County Tyrone native and a long-time active member of the Irish community in the Philadelphia area. She was 86.

"Annabella was one of the cheeriest people I have ever met and I am going to miss her terribly," said Siobhán Lyons, executive director of the Philadelphia Irish Center. "And I will especially miss her stories of being a young woman in Philadelphia - from her time as a model to her tales of the dances at the Irish Center and at 69th Street. She was a great supporter of the Irish community, especially the Donegal Society, and we will all feel her absence."
