He was a long way from Clare, and even farther from Washington, but Vice President Joe Biden had not forgotten his Irish roots this week during a visit to Mongolia.

According to The Hill newspaper, as part of a Mongolian tradition with visiting dignitaries, a horse was presented to the vice president.

When asked what he named the horse, Biden replied, "Celtic."

The report added that the vice president added that Celtic may not have liked its "Irish epitaph," because the horse got a bit excited by the end of the presentation and had to be taken away, the paper reported.

"Celtic" is reportedly the Secret Service's code name for Biden. As for the horse? It won't be winging its way to Biden's Delaware, but staying on in its homeland, though presumably keeping its Irish up.
