St. Patrick's Day Memories: John Duddy

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Pogues concert in the Nokia Theatre the day after my fight in Madison Square Garden for St. Patrick's day. Meeting Shane and the gang was amazing.

Have you ever marched in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade? I haven't yet. I'm usually nursing a sore head from the night before. But not with drink - usually from the fights in Madison Square Garden. If I ever do march, it will have to be with the Derry City groups. Five essential Irish albums that should be part of everyone's music library: Any albums from U2, The Pogues, The Dubliners, The Cranberries, and the legendary Christy Moore. How much green do you wear on March 17th? Not much. All I have to do is wish people a happy St. Patrick's Day when I'm in New York, and the accent says it all. Do you eat corned beef & cabbage on St. Patrick's Day? How about soda bread? I do eat it every chance I get, soda bread and all. Favorite Irish film? There are too many good Irish films to pick one favorite, but I like "In the Name of the Father," "Michael Collins," and "Mickey Bo and Me." Favorite Irish book? I read Brendan O'Carroll's "Mrs Brown" books not long ago. They were hilarious! Favorite Irish song? "The Town I Loved so Well." Complete this sentence: The most Irish thing about me is . . . I enjoy the craic and never take myself too seriously!
