Law & Order Honoree

Attorney Maureen Horgan serves the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Legal Services Division as an Assistant Bar Counsel to the Statewide Grievance Committee. She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar and also licensed to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the United States Supreme Court.

Horgan is a graduate of Quinnipiac University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree, and University College Galway with a Ph.D. She also completed the University of San Diego School of Law Institute on International and Comparative Law at Oxford University.

Horgan was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by Post University in Connecticut where she taught as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies and Psychology. While at Post, she was elected a member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society Honoris Causis.

Horgan is a certified Ceili dance teacher at the Horgan Academy of Irish Dance in Naugatuck, Connecticut where she teaches along with her sister Irene. They are the daughters of Maura (Gill) Horgan from Fenagh, County Leitrim and the late Jeremiah Horgan from Blarney, County Cork.
