Name: Dennis J. Ring 

Biography: DENIS J RING is the son of Sheila (Fleming) Ring of Ballydesmond, Cork and Denis Ring of Woodford, Galway. He and his sister Deirdre were raised in Whitestone, Queens, New York. A product of Catholic education, he went to St Luke elementary school and St Francis Prep. HS. He graduated from Iona College with a History/Economics degree and earned a scholarship to Notre Dame Law School. Denis began his legal career as prosecutor under Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes, where he spent over nine years, primarily in the Rackets Division as a Deputy Bureau Chief in the Organized Crime Unit. He also worked as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida and the Eastern District of New York and received the US Department of Justice Director’s Award. Dennis is now the principal in the Law Office of Dennis J. Ring, PC, in Queens, New York. His office handles personal injury and criminal defense litigation, as well as real estate and estate planning. Active in his community and parish, he is a member of a number of civic organizations and an officer in the Knights of Columbus.

 


Name: Sean Patrick Riordan 

Biography: Patrick Riordan immediately began working with labor unions to protect injured workers’ rights. Through such work Sean became deeply involved in 9/11 First Responder issues and for years lobbied Congress for the passage of the ‘James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.’ Happily, President Obama signed the act into law on January 2, 2011. As a second generation Irish-American, Sean has always felt a deep connection with his Irish heritage. As past president of the Nassau County Brehon Law Society and board member of the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Sean has advocated for human and civil rights in Northern Ireland and the continuation of the ongoing peace process.

 


Name: Anita M. Sands 

Biography: Anita Sands is Group Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of UBS Wealth Management Americas and is responsible for technology, operations and corporate shared services, along with designing and executing the organization’s transformational strategy. Previously, she was Managing Director, Head of Transformational Management for Global Operations and Technology at Citigroup and before moving to the US, Anita was SVP of Innovation and Process design at Royal Bank of Canada. Anita’s background outside Financial Services includes a PhD. in Atomic and Molecular Physics and a First Class Honors degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Queen’s University of Belfast. Having received a Fulbright and O’Reilly Foundation scholarship, she attended Carnegie Mellon University where she graduated with highest distinction with a Masters in Public Policy and Management. She is former board member of a number of Irish organizations including the Ireland Fund of Canada and attended the Global Irish Economic Forum at Farmleigh.

 


Name: Orla Treacy 

Biography: Orla Treacy is the Operations Director of CeaseFirePA, Pennsylvania’s leading gun violence prevention organization. CeaseFirePA is dedicated to reducing and preventing gun violence through education and advocacy in communities across the state. In this role Orla oversees internal operations of the company, including communications, coalition building and reporting. Orla attended high school at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a co-founder of the Máiréad Ní Fhearghail Ladies Gaelic Football team in Philadelphia. The team recently won the Ladies Senior Division in the North American Championship.

 


Name: Patrick Tully 

Biography: Patrick Tully grew up the youngest of four children (all sisters) in Wall Township, New Jersey. He attended Marist College where he received a BA. in Communications/Public Relations. His Irish roots, surname and great-great Grandparents come from Counties Meath, Cavan and Tipperary. This year, he founded Pat Tully Inc. which handles public relations and marketing for professional athletes, public figures, charities and corporate brands. He sits on the board of three not for profit foundations and is a proud volunteer for the American Ireland Fund where he was named the 2009 New York Young Leader of the year by his peers.  Mr Tully is also a professional auctioneer and lends his talents to charities and organizations around the United States.
