Not the First Storming of the Capitol

The last time the U.S. Capitol - an earlier version of today's building - was stormed was by the British in 1814 led by General Robert Ross, who was from Rostrevor, County Down. Ironically, according to the coauthor of a biography of Ross, John McCavitt, President Elect Biden's ancestors came from the opposite side of Carlingford Lough from General Ross and would have seen the Ross Monument as they departed Ireland's shore for America.
