Roscommon home draw postponed

The Roscommon County Board’s “Win a Home in London” draw has been postponed until the end of the year. The Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie fundraiser has a first prize of a London apartment worth €815,000 and €856,000 worth of tickets have already been sold with the costs of the prize and marketing covered. The draw was due to be made next month when Roscommon were due to play London in Ruislip. The draw will now be made on Dec. 30. The funds have been ring-fenced and all profits will go towards Dr Hyde Park and the development of the Dermot Earley Centre of Participation. A similar draw in 2019 for a house in Dublin saw 14,000 tickets sold at €100 each and a profit of €943,000.

KEANE’S ‘TREBLE’ CAR ON MARKET

Meanwhile, an Aston Martin car first owned by former Manchester United captain Roy Keane is up for sale in England. Keane bought the car to celebrate United winning the treble in 1999. The DB7 Vantage has a price tag of £24,000. It is a two-door petrol automatic with a 3.2-liter engine, has 60,000 miles on the clock and has had three owners. The car was registered in1998, a year before United became the only English team to win the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup in one season. An Auto Trader spokeswoman said: “Roy Keane bought this Aston Martin to celebrate Manchester United’s iconic treble win of ’99, standing out as the best four-wheeled pieces of memorabilia to mark a golden milestone in the club’s history.’’
