Irish owned Archstone Builders is working on the conversion of a section of East Orange Hospital in New Jersey into a Covid-19 care clinic.

The Irish spirit is to the fore in this Covid-19 spring and no less so in East Orange, New Jersey where an Irish owned, New York-based construction company, Archstone Builders, is working on the conversion of an under used 100,000 square foot section of East Orange Hospital into a fully functional 500 bed Covid-19 care clinic.
Archstone is partnering with Irish-owned subcontractors working on what is a fast moving project.
They include Pat O'Connor and sons and MC Electrical owned by Shay Furlong (Wexford) and Mark Comerford, said Archstone's Director of Construction, Joe Moran.
"Our team are working 24/7 at the moment, with staggered shifts at this five story building. The project is extremely fast tracked, with construction proceeding simultaneously with design work due to the current situation and need for hospital beds," said Moran, who is from Limerick.
"We have many Irish working with us and currently based on this project are superintendents Brian Glynn from Galway, and Paul Weldon from Dublin."
Moran, who works alongside managing partner David Stack, said that the East Orange project was a standout example of "how we are pulling together to help during this pandemic."
