Discussing Ireland at Helsinki Commission in D.C.

During their recent tour of Capitol Hill, Fr. Sean McManus of the Irish National Caucus and Belfast rights and justice campaigner Raymond McCord Sr. visited the office of the congressional U.S. Helsinki Commission (Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe) which is charged with monitoring compliance with the Helsinki Accords and advancing comprehensive security through promotion of human rights, democracy, and economic, environmental and military cooperation in 57 countries. Pictured in the Helsinki Commission office is (l-r) Fr. McManus, Paul Massaro of the Helsinki Commission and Raymond McCord. Mr. Massaro serves as the policy advisor responsible for OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) and his portfolio includes areas such as anti-corruption, sanctions, finance, trade, Arctic issues, and energy security.
