Coming off tonight’s presentation of the Irish Rock Songbook at City Winery, Joe Hurley will be performing uptown after the New York parade with Rogue’s March on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Amity Hall, 982 Amsterdam Ave.
Pierce Turner will perform for the first time ever his favorite classic Irish songs at Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette St., near Astor Place, in Manhattan, on this Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, at 7 p.m.

Novelist Joseph O’Connor has said about the New York-based Wexford performer, “Pierce Turner is a storyteller, soul man, poet, heartbreaker, with the voice of a choirboy high on rocket fuel. His songs sound like nobody else's. A true and beautiful and utterly unique artist.”

On Thursday afternoon, March 21, the UFT Irish American Committee’s Annual Heritage Celebration at UFT HQ, 52 Broadway, Downtown Manhattan: (doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the program will begin promptly at 4:30) will pay tribute to Professor Seamus Scanlon’s award-winning library service to adult learners at CUNY’s Center for Worker Education and the international success of his critically acclaimed play “The McGowan Trilogy”. This event will include a reading of “The Long Wet Grass” by the Cell Theater with Gina Costigan who is currently performing in “The Ferryman” on Broadway. The admission fee of $20 includes a buffet dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, vegetables, Irish soda bread, dessert, coffee/tea/soda and wine.
