Irish starlet Katie Taylor is back in New York City on December 15 to defend her IBF and WBA world lightweight titles against Finland’s Eva Wahlstrom at Madison Square Garden.
It will be the 11-0 [ 5 KO) Taylor’s third title defense in as many fights in the Big Apple but her first appearance at the Garden, long considered the mecca of boxing.
In Wahlstrom (22 – 0 – 13 KOs), the Bray native faces an old amateur foe who’s aiming to become a two-weight world champion. Wahlstrom, the long-reigning WBC super featherweight champion, will be stepping up to the lightweight division for the first time.
