Clipper voyagers take time out in New York

Roseanne McGlinchey and Mary Frawley pictured Thursday evening at a reception held at Pier A in Manhattan. The sailing duo aboard Derry/Londonderry/Doire are on the last stop of the Clipper Round the World race 2017-2018. They will set sail for Derry on June 25 and expect to make the transatlantic crossing in 20-22 days. Their route thus far has been Liverpool, Uruguay, Cape Town, Australia, China, Seattle and New York. After leaving New York and racing some 3000 nautical miles across the Atlantic, the Clipper fleet is due to arrive between Tuesday July 10 and Saturday July 14, just in time for the 2018 Foyle Maritime Festival.
