“Irish Teachers On and Off the Page” will the theme in this year’s UFT Irish American Committee Frank McCourt Lecture, on next Thursday, June 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Honor Molloy will examine the portrayal of the educator in the work of Pat Conroy, Kevin Holohan, Michelle Woods, Frank McCourt, and other celebrated Irish and Irish-American writers.
Molloy’s own works include the novel “Smarty Girl” and the play “Crackskull Row.”
Following the lecture, Frank McCourt’s widow Ellen will show the short video of his children’s book “Angela and the Baby Jesus,” which is narrated by his brother Malachy.
