Schumer briefs Navy Secretary on Gallagher ship proposal

Senator Charles Schumer has personally briefed U.S. Navy Secretary Richard Spencer on the campaign to have a U.S. Navy destroyer named after County Mayo-born Vietnam War hero Patrick “Bob” Gallagher. Secretary Spencer was on a visit to Long Island last Friday where he met with Schumer and relatives of Gallagher who live in the area. Schumer, who previously wrote Spencer a letter supporting the ship naming, is pictured handing over documents on the Gallagher campaign to Secretary Spencer.
