Six films were shown in the New York Irish Shorts Showcase on Oct. 1, as part of the East Coast version of the three-day Irish Screen America at NYU’s Cantor Film Center. Director/actor/producer Nicola Murphy was there to represent “Float,” while Seamus Scanlon, the screenwriter and author of the original story and subsequent play, flew the flag for the “The Long Wet Grass.”
