The American Irish Historical Society will host the opening reception for this year’s New York/New Belfast conference.

The US-Ireland Top 50 Companies will be announced at the New York/New Belfast conference at Pier A, Harbor House tomorrow, Friday.
This is the tenth year of the companies list and the eight year of the conference which highlights the work of major companies with operations in the U.S. and Ireland.
With a focus on transatlantic operations and building bridges between the two great nations the awards laud investment that is embedding the peace for future generations.
The fifty honorees will be announced at a gala downtown luncheon hosted by the Irish Echo at Pier A, Harbor House on what is also Bloomsday, June 16.
The celebration will be addressed by Constance Hunter, Chief Economist of KPMG, and Daniel Dromm, New York City Council member and chair of the council’s education committee.
The luncheon gathering is a highlight of the two-day New York/New Belfast conference which opens this evening with a reception uptown at the American Irish Historical Society.
The conference spotlights the progress and prosperity being built by the citizens of two great cities, New York and Belfast, and looks optimistically to the future while celebrating a shared past.
Movie makers, scientists, technology companies and engineers have been among those who have received conference plaudits in recent years, this for their high performing operations on both sides of the Atlantic.
They have included the production company HBO, leading law firm, A&L Goodbody, pioneers in scientific imaging Andor Technology, and the New York Stock Exchange.
This year's U.S.-Ireland Top 50 is an illustrious one with Northern Property, Belfast, Norwegian Airlines, and Bank of Ireland USA just some of the companies being recognized.
“The unmistakable and unbreakable bonds between Ireland and the United States have proven a key element in Ireland’s progression, in terms of both peace and prosperity,” said Irish Echo publisher, Connla McCann.
“Those bonds grow ever stronger when underpinned by economic growth and business relationships.
