Brady to Burnley

The Republic of Ireland’s Robbie Brady seen here celebrating his dramatic, late winning goal against Italy in the European Championships in France last June. He had reason to celebrate Tuesday night also, as before the transfer window closed he’d made the move to the Premiership’s Burnley in a reported $16 million deal. Brady and Irish teammate Wes Hoolahan’s Norwich City was relegated to the Championship last season. Meanwhile, the Sean Dyche-managed Burnley appears well-placed in 9th to break the promotion-relegation cycle of the last three seasons and the club record paid for the Irishman shows its determination to stay in the top tier. The 25-year-old Brady joins two other international regulars from the Dublin area – his childhood friend at the St. Kevin's Boys club Jeff Hendrick and Stephen Ward.
