Celebrating jazz in NYC

Author Peter Quinn and actor Jack O’Connell met up at Charles Hale’s cabaret show “Jazz in the City” at the Triad, West 72nd Street, Manhattan last week. Hale interweaves favorites from the Great American Songbook performed by the David Raleigh Trio, with family stories (some are about his grandfather Lt. Charles Hale of the FDNY), anecdotes about musical superstars of the past and vignettes from New York City’s history. The remaining performances, which start at 9 p.m., are on Tuesday, Oct. 25, Thursday, Nov. 10, and Thursday, Nov. 17. For advance tickets ($20), go to www.triadnyc.com.
