Aer Lingus has announced three new connections across the Atlantic and by next year will be flying at least a dozen routes linking North America to Ireland. It’s a long way and many air miles since the airline first began transatlantic jet services in 1958 with Boeing 707 and its 720 variant, shown in this photo from the mid-1960s
