If you build it...

The GAA has announced that the firm Mott MacDonald, who have built some the world's leading sports arenas, including the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and Wembley Stadium in London, have been appointed to design the new 40,000 all-seater Casement Park in West Belfast.

The stadium rebuilding has been funded by a financial commitment in the order of £61.4 million from Stormont through the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.

This is complimented by a commitment from the GAA to provide funding up to a level of £15 million.

Work could begin as early as next summer, while the stadium is due to be completed by September, 2015.
