Almost part of Ireland says Romney

Mitt Romney and Enda Kenny sat down for a chat in the Irish Embassy in London last week, this after the Republican presidential candidate had hoofed it from his nearby hotel because of traffic.

"They spoke extremely quietly," said a press briefing from the Romney camp.
But in answer to a question from the taoiseach, Romney was heard responding: "Just being governor of Massachusetts, which is almost a part of Ireland."
Kenny spoke of his visit to the U.S. for St. Patrick's Day and, according to reports, the two men spoke about interest rates, an exchange which likely touched on Ireland's low corporate tax rate.
Romney, during a discussion about the Irish economy and measures Kenny has taken during his term of office thus far, commented: "That's quite a job making Ireland attractive to business investment."
After they had sat down in facing couches the banter continued.

Kenny: "So you had to walk from the hotel?"
Romney: "Not bad at all. I enjoyed the walk. I guess you also had to walk."
Kenny: "Yes we're used to walking in Ireland."
Romney: "I guess we didn't 'have' to walk, it's enjoyable to walk. It's a beautiful day."
At this point the two spoke about the opening of the Olympic Games, the main reason for both being in the British capital.
