'Albert Nobbs' on DVD

Early in her career Pauline Collins had a signature role as Sarah in the TV hit "Upstairs Downstairs." Now Collins, who grew up in an Irish Catholic family in Liverpool, is upstairs as scheming hotel owner Mrs. Baker in the period drama "Albert Nobbs," now out on DVD. Based on the Dublin-set novella by Irish novelist George Moore, the movie, which garnered three Academy Award nominations and three Golden Globe nominations, is one the most Irish of movies to appear in recent years. The screenplay was written by Irish novelist John Banville with its star Glenn Close, and it stars Brendan Gleeson, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Brenda Fricker and Bronagh Gallagher. Janet McTeer and rising Australian star Mia Wasikowska are also in the cast of "Albert Nobbs," which was filmed on location in Dublin and Wicklow in the winter of 2010-11.
